KD has muted reaction to Warriors' tribute video in Bay return

At long last, Kevin Durant made his return to the Bay Area, but an empty arena without fans led to far less jubilee than what was expected.

Before Golden State and the Brooklyn Nets tipped off at Chase Center on Saturday night, the Warriors aired a special pregame tribute video to thank Durant, a two-time NBA Finals MVP, for his contributions during his three-year tenure in the Warriors' dynasty.

Durant watched from the Nets' bench, but didn't have too much of an emotional reaction. Instead he simply waved to the sparse amount of family members in the stands at the conclusion of the tribute.

Granted, with Chase Center sans fans, the atmosphere was far less grand than it would've been with a packed house. Even coach Steve Kerr and Steph Curry remarked Durant's return would lack its usual splendor.

That's probably why the Warriors are planning a second tribute video when fans are allowed back into the arena.

Chase Center lacked a certain atmosphere without Dub Nation, but Durant's former team, especially Curry, was plenty happy to see the 10-time NBA All-Star.

While Durant's return to the Bay Area couldn't be celebrated appropriately Saturday, it's safe to say Dub Nation will make up for it accordingly, as soon as it is safe to do so.
