Kevin Durant reveals who the runner-up was when he picked the Warriors

Share

When Kevin Durant hit free agency in July 2016, he met with six teams in The Hamptons:

Warriors, Thunder, Clippers, Spurs, Celtics, Heat.

Golden State won the sweepstakes.

Who came in second?

Durant was recently a guest on The Bill Simmons Podcast, and Simmons -- a life-long Celtics fan -- said that Boston was the runner-up.

"No," Durant said. "You weren't."

So then who was the runner-up?

"OKC," Durant said. "It wasn't Golden State-Boston."

Remember back in July 2016 when Doc Rivers said the Clippers "were in the Top 3 at the very end?"

Fun stuff.
