Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have had their ups and downs. But whatever once came between them appears to have been left in the past.
The two former teammates have now made multiple stops since their time together on the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Durant playing for the Warriors and now the Brooklyn Nets, and Westbrook recently being traded from the Houston Rockets to the Washington Wizards. The Nets and Wizards matched up in a preseason game on Sunday, giving Durant and Westbrook a chance to reunite.
And by the looks of their mutual embrace following the game, it would appear their relationship is just fine.
The two former MVPs didn't get a chance to play against one another Sunday, as Westbrook was held out for rest. But Durant played in his first game since tearing his Achilles in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, and looked just like his dominant self.
That was an awesome sight for anyone who is a fan of Durant's, the NBA or basketball in general. His heartwarming exchange with Westbrook following his triumphant return was the icing on the cupcake.
