Early in Saturday’s contest between the Warriors and Brooklyn Nets, the big screens at Chase Center showed a video tribute for Kevin Durant.
During his three-year run with the Warriors from 2016-19, Durant helped the Dubs' dynasty with three straight NBA Finals trips and a pair of NBA Finals MVPs. There were more moments than the franchise could fit into the time of a TV commercial timeout, but that’s OK for Durant.
The superstar, who received a warm welcome back in the Bay from his former teammates Steph Curry and Draymond Green, said he regularly replays his top Warriors moments in his head.

“Tribute video was cool,” Durant said. “I think about those moments daily. Every single moment that I had in this league, I think about it and try to analyze it and get better from it. My time here at Golden State was so much fun. It was such a big learning experience, especially learning the game of basketball different. A different philosophy. I’m going to take that with me for the rest of my life. Tribute video was cool, but I’m always playing those moments in my head.”

On Saturday, Durant finished with 20 points, five rebounds and six assists in his first career game at Chase Center.

Without thousands of fans in the stands to give him a standing ovation, Durant’s reception wasn’t nearly what it could have been. But with a humble thumbs up, Durant showed some love for the Warriors franchise.
Durant had plenty of highlights with the Warriors but his iconic Game 3 daggers in the 2017 and 2018 NBA Finals will always be remembered by Dub Nation.
