The 2017 NBA Finals between the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers was a clash of the titans.
Many people consider that series the highest level of basketball ever played, and plenty of folks believe that Warriors squad is the best of all time.
The Warriors knocked off the Cavs in five, and took Games 1, 2 and 5 by 22, 19 and nine points respectively. They unequivocally were the superior team, right?

Not necessarily, according to Kevin Durant -- who offered two replies on Instagram to give his opinion.
1) "Perfectly even matchup fam ... top to bottom."
2) "IT WAS AN EVEN MATCHUP NO MATTER HOW MUCH U CRY ABOUT IT."
Yours truly isn't going to waste much time litigating something that took place over four years ago. All I will say is that while that Cavs team was incredible/historically great, the Warriors flat out were better. It was not "perfectly even."
And arguably the main reason for that is Durant himself. KD averaged 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals, while shooting 55.6 percent overall and 47.4 percent from deep.

He outplayed LeBron James and was named Finals MVP.
