Klay celebrated by Steph, Warriors on his 31st birthday

Monday marks Klay Thompson's 31st birthday, and the Warriors released a touching video tribute to the star featuring quotes from coach Steve Kerr, Steph Curry, Draymond Green and several other teammates.

"There aren't that many people out there who have his size, strength and defensive versatility, and then incredible scoring ability," Kerr said of Thompson.

"Klay is my dog, I look at my career and it's kinda hard to separate the things that have happened on the court and not put Klay in there," Curry added about his fellow Splash Brother.

Klay and Steph have shared the court for eight seasons, and brought three titles to the Bay Area together. Draymond Green, who came to the Warriors one season after Klay, echoed a similar sentiment as Curry about his place in Warriors history being tied in with Thompson.

"I don't think there's a way you can mention my name and not mention him," Green said. "He embodies what it means to be a Warrior."

The trio brought the Warriors from a franchise that hadn't seen much playoff success for decades to the NBA's most feared squad, breaking the NBA's record for wins in a regular season with 73 in 2015-16.

Thompson is in midst of recovering from his second consecutive season-ending injury after tearing his Achilles just before the 2020 NBA Draft in November.

The outpouring of support from across the basketball and sports world overall following the injury confirmed just how popular of a player and person Klay is around the world.

Steph summed it up best near the end of the video, saying "can't wait for him to get back."

We can't either, Steph. We can't either.
