No Steph Curry. No Andrew Wiggins. No problem.
Heading into the Warriors’ Feb. 4 matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State was 26-26 with the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference before Steph Curry sustained partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane, as well as a contusion to his left lower leg.
How the Warriors responded in that game -- a 119-113 victory -- became a familiar theme over their latest five-game homestand.
“I think it says that we’re very talented,” Klay Thompson said on the team being able to hold it down despite missing guys after Friday’s 108-99 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. “Our depth has always been our strength.”
Golden State opened its five-game homestand last week not just without their star point guard, though. Two-way star Andrew Wiggins has been out since mid-February due to personal reasons.
The Warriors had a good track record at Chase Center, but without two starters, the homecourt advantage became more of a challenge. Or so we thought.
The Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans all entered Chase Center. None left with a win.

As a result, Golden State (34-30) racked up five more wins, and moved up to the fifth seed in the West, just one game behind the Phoenix Suns (35-29). They are 7-4 without Curry and 5-2 without Wiggins.
Curry, who is averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists this season, was sidelined for the 11th consecutive game with a lower leg injury. Meanwhile, Wiggins, who's averaging 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists, missed his seventh straight game.
When adversity struck, the Warriors responded perfectly. But now, they face their biggest test of the season: the road.

The Warriors head to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Sunday, then to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Tuesday, followed by a trip to Memphis on Thursday to face the Grizzlies.
The Warriors hope they will have Curry back in the mix for the road trip. If not, they will just have to do what they've been doing. It seems to be working just fine.
