It had been 941 days since Klay Thompson was introduced as a member of the Warriors' starting lineup.

That changed Sunday night as Thompson made his long-awaited return against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center.

Warriors fans, having missed watching the Splash Brother for two and a half years, gave Thompson a thunderous and long ovation when he was introduced alongside Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney.

Thompson was the last to be introduced to the fans and he sat on the bench by himself, soaking in the moment.

Thompson hadn't played in an NBA game since June 13, 2019, when he tore his left ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. As he was nearing his return from that injury, he tore his right Achilles in a pick-up game in Southern California on Nov. 18, 2020.

So this moment -- Klay's first game at Chase Center and first game in 31 months -- was a long time coming.

Once the game started, Thompson wasted no time, driving to the basket and flipping in a shot on the Warriors' first possession. He played the first 4:23 of the game before being subbed out.

Welcome back, Klay.
