The only thing missing from Steph Curry's epic 62-point performance in the Warriors' 137-122 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night were fans in the stands at Chase Center and Klay Thompson on the court with his fellow Splash Brother.
Thompson, of course, had the perfect Klay-esque response to Curry not only setting a new career-high in points for himself, but also passing Thompson's own career-best of 60 points. Thompson posted a hilarious scene from Happy Gilmore as his Instagram story on Monday.
Curry responded to Thompson with the perfect reminder that Klay still holds the record for the most 3-pointers in a game with 14.
While watching the game from afar as he rehabs from a torn Achilles' tendon, Thompson welcomed Curry to the 60-point club on Sunday night, and the two-time MVP loved seeing the tweet from his beloved and missed teammate.
"I appreciated the tweet. I've been chasing to get in the club since he did it," Curry said to reporters. "Takes one to know one, so I appreciate it."
The Warriors and the rest of the basketball world continue to miss Thompson on and off the court. The star shooting guard now is in a walking boot. He sent a message to all his fans on New Year's Eve, saying "there's so much great basketball ahead for not only myself, but the Warriors, and championships to be played [for] and hopefully won."
For now, Klay will continue to support his Splash Brother and the rest of the Warriors as the basketball world awaits the return of one of the sport's favorite players.
