Klay was man of few words in minicamp, with one funny exception

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Klay Thompson was a man of few words in his return to the practice court Friday.

With one hilarious exception.

Kerr revealed in a video conference with reporters Friday that Thompson "loudly" yawned as the coach addressed his players.

Never change, Klay.

Friday was Thompson's first practice with the Warriors since he tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Thompson missed the entirety of Golden State's shortened 2019-20 regular season, and the five-time NBA All-Star was ruled out for the campaign about three weeks before the NBA suspended the season in March due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

With Steph Curry and Draymond Green not participating in the Warriors' voluntary minicamp, which runs through Oct. 6, all eyes are on Thompson's return to the court. Kerr said Friday he wasn't sure whether or not Thompson would participate in 5-on-5 scrimmages once those begin, but the Splash Brother's presence provided a boost nonetheless.

Well, at least when Thompson wasn't yawning.
