Thompson needed at least 29 points on Sunday to average 20 points per game this season, after a torn ACL and torn Achilles forced him to the sideline for the last two-and-a-half years. He did that and more.

He finished with 41 points to average over 20 points per game this sesaon for the sixth time in his career, and his big night extended his streak of 30-plus point games to three, tying a career-high for Thompson.
It was also Thompson’s first 40-point night this season and first since January 2019.

After coming back from multiple injuries and missing over two-and-a-half years, Thompson’s resurgence since returning Jan. 9 is both inspiring and certainly exciting for Dub Nation.
