Klay makes fun of dad for calling Warriors' Lakers win early

Klay Thompson took over the role of in-game broadcaster during the second half of the Warriors' 118-91 thrashing of the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night, and was pure comedy. Even his dad, Mychal, wasn't safe from the jokes.

Warriors broadcaster Bob Fitzgerald asked Thompson if he loved watching Golden State's crazy 115-113 comeback win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 18.

"Gosh, did I ever," Thompson said.

He then quickly made sure to rub it in his father's face.

"Then I heard my dad on the radio was killin' us the whole time. He said the game was over on numerous occasions, and it just felt so good to get that win.

"So just rub it in his face."

The elder Thompson is the Lakers' radio color commentator. The now 66-year-old was the No. 1 pick in the 1978 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was traded from the San Antonio Spurs in February 1987 and spent his final five season in Los Angeles.

Thompson won back-to-back championships with the Lakers in 1987 and '88. But his son has three rings to his two.

The Warriors overcame a 22-point deficit to beat the Lakers earlier this month, and Mychal clearly didn't see that coming.
