Klay playfully apologizes after paper airplane whacks reporter

One of Klay Thompson’s favorite things to do in his postgame press conferences -- no matter if the Warriors win or lose -- is constructing paper airplanes out of stat sheets sitting on the podium.

Following the Warriors’ 122-120 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, Thompson was at it again.

As he was about to leave the podium, Thompson threw his paper airplane towards the aisle of the two media rows in the press conference room at Chase Center.

But this time, the plane took a nose dive directly into 95.7 The Game reporter Whitley Sandretto. Thompson apologized multiple times while Sandretto and other reporters enjoyed the funny exchange.

Objects were flying all over the place at Chase Center on Wednesday night. Warriors guard Steph Curry was ejected late in the fourth quarter for throwing his mouthpiece off the court out of frustration that appeared to stem from Jordan Poole's shot selection.

After the Warriors won, Poole walked up to Curry and jokingly teased the superstar by slinging his mouthpiece in the tunnel heading into the locker room.

Before he turned it into a paper airplane, the stat sheet treated Thompson well. In 34 minutes against Memphis, Thompson scored 24 points on 5-of-10 shooting from 3-point range and hit a monster go-ahead triple with 14.1 seconds left.

Thompson and the Warriors will face the Toronto Raptors at Chase Center before boarding a real plane and venturing on a three-game road trip in Oklahoma City, Minnesota and Denver.
