Despite the fact that Klay Thompson will be a free agent this summer, the Warriors shooting guard's name has been largely left out of the rumor mill.
With Kevin Durant's uncertain future taking up most of the oxygen around the Dubs, Thompson has flown under the radar for the most part. Partly due to the fact that he's given no indication he wants to leave the Bay, and partly because, well, he's Klay.
But, in the wake of the Warriors' Game 4 loss to the Houston Rockets in the second round of the NBA playoffs on Monday night, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reported that he'd been told Thompson was, in fact, unhappy with his current role on the Warriors and the number of shot attempts he's been getting.

The Klay rumor mill didn't last long, though.
Following the Warriors' Game 5 win at Oracle Arena in which Thompson led the Dubs with 27 points, Klay vehemently denied the report.
"That's not true," Thompson told Mark Medina of The Mercury News. "Have I ever indicated I was unhappy?"
Fair point.

Thompson's comments come in the wake of both Andrew Bogut and head coach Steve Kerr explaining why the Dubs don't seem to be worried about the possibility of life without Thompson.
It's simple: Thompson has previously said he wants to be a "Warrior for life" and has done nothing to make fans or the organization think otherwise.

The Dubs will need Thompson more than ever going forward in these playoffs.
With Kevin Durant suffering a right calf strain in the third quarter of Game 5, Golden State had to rely on Thompson, Steph Curry and Draymond Green to drag them to a 3-2 series lead over James Harden and the Rockets.
Durant reportedly is "unlikely" to play in Game 6, so the Warriors will need another stellar performance from Thompson if they plan to dispatch the Rockets and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
