Klay Thompson is making important progress in recovery from his torn Achilles.

The Warriors star spoke with the media before the game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday at Chase Center, and gave an update on how his rehabilitation is coming along.

"I got my boot off, I'm walking, I'm doing calf raises," Thompson said. "I'm in the hydro works, so uh, I've been doing a lot of mobility work, a lot of balance, I'm not running yet but I'm running in the treadmill, underwater and that's good for my psyche and from here it's just going to keep getting more intense and more active, so I'm looking forward to that part."

Klay also spoke about when he potentially could be making his return to the court, and is eyeing the Warriors' 2021-22 season opener.

"Could be a few weeks after, maybe a month after, but it's definitely gonna be geared toward the very beginning of the season," Thompson said after affirming that he'd like to be there for the first game of next season.

Thompson hasn't played since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, when he tore his ACL against the Toronto Raptors. He was seen putting up some shots at Chase Center on Sunday prior to the Warriors' matchup with Utah.

Whenever Thompson returns to the Warriors' lineup and makes his long-awaited Chase Center debut, it will be one of the most meorable nights in franchise history.
