Klay Thompson used to care: ‘Man, I should get more love, then I was just like…'

Klay Thompson is universally beloved in the Bay Area.

Not bad for a guy who said this a couple months ago:

On Friday morning, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne wrote a fantastic feature on the 11th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

One of the best quotes from the story:

"I used to actually get upset. Man, I should get more love. Then I was just like ... none of that stuff really matters. As long as you go out there and ... you've got the best job in the world. You don't need to get gratification from the internet, or social media.

"Because you'll never find it, first of all. And you'll always find a lot of bad stuff. To me, as long as you play hard and have your dream job, shoot, I'll take that. That's all that matters to me."

As we know, Klay beats to his own drum and doesn't care very much about the spotlight.

And as Draymond Green told ESPN:

"If he had a huge ego, this doesn't work. It just doesn't."

Klay's future in Golden State is going to be a huge story this summer.

If he and the Warriors do not agree on an extension in July, the rumor mill is going to start churning fast.

For now, just enjoy Game 4 tonight...
