Lowry blames self for costly foul on D-Lee in Warriors' win

With just 7.7 seconds remaining Sunday night, the Warriors inbounded the ball down by one on the Toronto Raptors' side of the court. After Steph Curry was checked quickly by multiple defenders off the initial pass, the two-time NBA MVP swung it back to inbounder Damion Lee, who took a few dribbles and hoisted a deep 3-pointer.

But Lee was fouled on the play by Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry, and after a review determined the whistle came before the shot, Lee earned two free throws with a chance to give Golden State the lead.

He sunk both and the Warriors held off a buzzer-beater attempt from Pascal Siakam to secure the win over Toronto at Chase Center. After the game, Lowry took ownership for handing the Warriors the game-winning points.

The veteran point guard finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists, but told reporters after the game that he wasn't in the best mindset throughout the game.

Sunday night wasn't the first time Lee has come up clutch at the end of a game this season, as his buzzer-beating 3-pointer in Chicago back in December gave the Warriors their first win of the 2020-21 campaign.

Lee tallied 13 points in just over 15 minutes, surpassing the 1,000-point mark of his NBA career in the process.

It was a night Lowry likely will want to erase quickly, but not one Lee will soon forget, especially after he made sure to secure the game ball after clinching the win.
