Steph Curry has Ja Morant's MVP vote. And now you can add LeBron James to that list.
After the Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers finished off their respective regular seasons in victorious fashion on Sunday, setting up a marquee matchup between the two teams in the Western Conference play-in tournament, James was asked about the impending battle, and put his full weight behind Curry's MVP candidacy.

"We're playing, in my mind, the MVP of this year in Steph," James told reporters.
No offense to Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic, who in all likelihood will take home the first MVP award of his career, it has become increasingly obvious to a growing segment of NBA viewers that Curry has made a very convincing case that he should be winning his third.
The 2020-21 NBA scoring champion arguably put forth the best season of his decorated career, carrying the Warriors on his shoulders to the play-in. No other player in the league was depended on by his team more than Curry was, and despite all the additional defensive focus and pressure in the absence of Klay Thompson, he outperformed even the loftiest of expectations.

Jokic was more than tremendous in his own right, and you can make similar cases for Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. But no one did more with less than Curry did, and when we look back on this season in the history books, it will be his spectacular efforts that stand out.
That's the mark of an MVP. And, clearly, James agrees.
