We now know a bit more about Warriors star Klay Thompson's feature-film debut, courtesy of LeBron James.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar welcomed his social-media followers to the jam Thursday, revealing the logo and title for the highly anticipated "Space Jam" sequel. He wore a dad hat bearing "Space Jam: A New Legacy" and -- befitting of a dad wearing a dad hat -- posted the logo backward.

The "Space Jam" Twitter account, helpfully, re-posted the video with the proper orientation.
Thompson is one of many NBA and WNBA stars who are slated to appear alongside James, Don Cheadle and the Looney Tunes in the sequel to "Space Jam." Michael Jordan starred in the 1996 documentary film, which centered around the then-retired Jordan rediscovering his love for basketball while playing in a winner-take-all game with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Warner Bros.' stable of classic cartoon characters against a team of aliens who stole talent from NBA stars like Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing.

But nostalgia runs deep for the live-action/animated comedy, and James officially signed on to star in the sequel -- following years of rumors -- in 2018. The heir to His Airness' basketball throne was a natural fit to step into Jordan's Nikes, considering his critically acclaimed turn playing himself in the 2015 Judd Apatow comedy "Trainwreck." Thompson's wry, oddball humor gives him a decent floor as a comedic actor, at the very least.
Principal photography wrapped in September, and Thompson and James were spotted on the set for a scene seemingly taking place at the NBA All-Star Game in late June. The logistical challenges likely were significant, considering James' notorious discipline.
"His days are scheduled out to the max," Kendrick Perkins, James' longtime friend and former teammate, told NBC Sports Bay Area's "Runnin' Plays" podcast this week. "And it's not just done by, like, his group of people. It's done by him also. People don't understand, he is so disciplined. He goes to bed at a certain time. I know not to text 'Bron after [11 p.m.] because his phone is down, and he's in bed. ... Every single thing is scheduled. He moves like the President."

"Space Jam: A New Legacy," which was co-written and produced by Oakland native (and die-hard Warriors fan) Ryan Coogler, is scheduled for a July 16, 2021 release.
Warner Bros., notably, didn't delay the release date when it pushed back other upcoming releases earlier this month with theaters worldwide shut down and numerous productions halted due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
