Michael Jordan spoke at Kobe Bryant's memorial Monday at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

And while it was an incredibly sad day, the six-time NBA champion did provide the world -- including Warriors superstar Steph Curry -- with a moment of levity during his speech.

The original "Crying Jordan" meme -- derived from a photo taken during the five-time NBA MVP's 2009 Hall of Fame induction -- hit the mainstream in 2015, and stuck around for several years.

"I told my wife I wasn't going to do this because I didn't want to see that for the next three or four years," Jordan said.
