Moses Moody has only played one season with the Warriors, but he’s already an NBA champion.
And when his teammate Steph Curry was going for his own first ring with Golden State during the 2015 NBA Finals, it turns out he and the Warriors had a fan in young Moody.
During a recent interview with KNBR’s “Murph & Mac” show, the second-year pro talked about what it was like going from a 13-year-old basketball fan to a 20-year-old rising star in the NBA playing alongside players he used to idolize.

“It was different,” Moody said of his rookie year. “It was something, watching these guys that I’ve been watching my whole life, as long as I can remember. And then just being out there on the floor with them, playing with them.
“But that feeling I had in the beginning, for sure. Probably preseason when I’m first getting out there, but after that, I’m doing it every night so it just becomes natural. They hoop just like you hoop. We’re all here, and I’m here for a reason, so that feeling subsided a little bit as the season went on.”
One of those players Moody watched as a kid was Curry, he said, and he rooted for the Warriors to beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015 when he was just 13 years old.
“I was going for Golden State during that first one,” Moody said. “I really liked Steph in the beginning of his career. I didn't know him in college, but when he got to the league, I liked his game and I had been watching him and I had been talking about him a lot.

“But then, you know, he became Steph and everyone was loving him, everyone was talking about him so I kind of fell back. [But] when they were in the Finals making that run, I just liked the way that Golden State played with shooting threes, running up and down, swinging the ball, so I was rocking with Golden State."

Now Moody knows what it’s like to share a court with several of the Warriors stars he was rooting for all those years ago, like Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala.
But the young athlete has proven he belongs, helping Golden State win its fourth championship in eight seasons and going on to shine in summer league.
And now that Moody has won a ring with Curry, Dub Nation certainly is hoping they do it again.
