Steph Curry has been one of the best tickets in town for the NBA this season.
Mychal Mulder's reaction said it all after Curry nailed a 3-pointer that was just in front of the midcourt logo during Saturday night's 136-97 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The shot was waved off by officials, but is another in a long line of brilliant makes from Curry that haven't counted.
“We were all just watching the show. My reaction was the same reaction a lot of people on their couches at home were probably having," Mulder said Monday when asked by NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole about the shot. "It was incredible to see him catch fire like that, we’ve seen it numerous times obviously and I’m sure we’ll see it again soon, so we’re all looking forward to that and just enjoying the show at that point.”
Curry put up 49 points on 11-of-21 shooting from 3-point range in Saturday's blowout win, and is playing some of the best basketball of his NBA career, even as he nears the conclusion of his 12th season.
Mulder joined the Warriors for just a few games before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19, but has gotten to see the full Curry experience in his first full season in a Warriors uniform.
Curry appears likely to capture the scoring title and has kept this Warriors team afloat through an up-and-down campaign.
Luckily, there are four regular-season games remaining to catch the star in action, before the postseason gets underway with the play-in tournament.
