Is Steve Kerr going to be the Warriors' head coach next season?

"No doubt," Joe Lacob told the Bay Area News Group's Tim Kawakami on Monday night. "Obviously we want him to get better and he has certainly struggled. But hopefully he does (get better) and he’ll be our coach for a long time."

"There's no doubt in my mind that he will return as the coach of this team," Myers told ESPN's Chris Haynes. "I'm confident we'll have him back. Steve will be our coach."

After the Warriors took a 2-0 lead on the Blazers in the opening round of the playoffs, Kerr took an indefinite leave of absence because of ongoing complications from a 2015 back surgery.

He was not on the sideline for the Warriors' next 11 games, but was heavily involved in practices, meetings and all preparation.

Kerr eventually returned to the bench for Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

He just completed Year 3 of the 5-year, $25 million contract he signed in May 2014.

"Winning is fantastic," Kerr told reporters on Monday night. "I've been so lucky to be part of so many championship teams as a player, and now as coach, and it never gets old.

"But tonight was a little different just based on the things I've had to go through during this time..."
