It’s that time of year.
With the NBA playoffs in the rear-view mirror, a new version of NBA 2K 21 ratings were released Thursday. The first version of the ratings were released on Sept. 4. While other players such as LeBron James saw their ratings increase due to their play in the playoffs, the Warriors' ratings were not affected.
After a half-decade of unbridled dominance over the league, the Warriors weren’t quite as much fun to play with in NBA 2K20 while stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson missed time with injuries. Although both essentially took a season off in 2019-20, the two are still among the highest-rated players in NBA 2K21. But Curry is the only Golden State player who received a 90 or higher rating (95). Steph is tied for the game’s fifth-highest rated player overall.
The sharpshooting Thompson, who is coming off a torn ACL suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, comes up just short at 89 overall. Thompson is the game’s 16th-best player. Slightly down the rung is swingman Andrew Wiggins, whom the Warriors acquired at the trade deadline in a blockbuster deal involving D’Angelo Russell, getting an 82 rating.
Draymond Green and promising 2019 second-round draft pick Eric Paschall will be a 79 overall in the first iteration of the game’s ratings.
These ratings are dynamic and will adjust throughout the offseason, meaning they could look quite different by the time the 2020-21 season gets underway.
