Injured Klay rises in All-Star voting, Steph still top guard

The second fan returns for NBA All-Star voting were released Thursday morning.

And to nobody's surprise, Steph Curry (4,033,050 votes) still is No. 1 among all guards and third overall behind LeBron James (4,369,533) and Kevin Durant (4,234,433).

But there was one result that we didn't expect to see.

Klay Thompson -- who is out for the entire season with a torn right Achilles tendon -- moved up to No. 8 among Western Conference guards after checking in at No. 10 last week.

This is yet another sign of how much the "Splash Brother" is beloved by Warriors fans and the basketball world at large.

As for Curry, he is averaging 34.6 points, 5.4 assists and 5.1 rebounds over his last seven games, while shooting 57.3 percent overall, 52.4 percent from deep and 94.6 percent from the free throw line.

Steve Kerr and Draymond Green believe he is playing the best basketball of his career, and Kent Bazemore declared Steph "the best player in basketball right now."

All-Star voting ends at 8:59 p.m. PT on Feb. 16, with the starters being announced two days later.

The All-Star Game will be held March 7 in Atlanta.
