Report: Wiggins will try to play in Game 6 despite rib injury

It appears Andrew Wiggins could fight through the pain of his rib injury Friday night.

The Warriors' All-Star forward will try and play in Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena, ESPN Warriors reporter Kendra Andrew and NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported, citing sources.

Andrews reported that Wiggins will go through his pregame routine ahead of the potential elimination game in the Western Conference semifinals and see how he feels before tip-off.

Wiggins was added to the Warriors' injury report Thursday with a left costal cartilage fracture pertaining to one's ribs. The injury isn't uncommon and often results from direct contact to the sternum.

Warriors center Kevon Looney sustained a similar rib fracture in the 2019 NBA Finals and played through it, describing his pain level as a seven or eight out of 10.

Wiggins' two-way play was significant during the Warriors' run to their fourth NBA championship in eight seasons. And facing elimination down 3-2 in the best-of-seven series against the Lakers, the Warriors will need their All-Star on the floor with them -- if he's able to, of course.
