Kevin Durant is not flying with the Warriors back to the Bay Area.

Instead, he is traveling to New York to meet with doctors regarding his injured right Achilles, league sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The fear is that the reigning two-time NBA Finals MVP tore his Achilles during Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night against the Raptors.

It's unclear if KD underwent an MRI in Toronto on Tuesday morning or if the imaging will take place in New York.

If Durant did in fact sustain a full rupture, he would undergo surgery and be expected to miss all of next season.

The Warriors were able to rally and stave off elimination in Game 5 with a 106-105 win, but Monday night was a bad one for the NBA.
