Pelicans big man Anthony Davis was back in the news on Wednesday.

The Lakers and Celtics are actively engaged in trade talks with the Pelicans as both teams are pursuing the six-time All-Star, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

New Orleans general manager David Griffin reportedly is looking to strike a deal before next Thursday's NBA Draft.

If you're asking yourself how this could impact the Warriors, Woj has the answer:

Boston is still determined to trade for Davis and hope that he can be an allure to keep All-Star guard Kyrie Irving from leaving in free agency.

Irving had discussed the possibility of joining Kevin Durant as a free agent in either New York or Brooklyn, sources said, but Durant has been lost for the 2019-20 season after surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles.

That makes it sound like Durant's injury might have thrown a wrench in the possibility that the reigning two-time NBA Finals MVP teams up with Irving in New York.

But there's no reason to speculate any further on that front.

As for Davis, all reports indicate that he will not sign a supermax extension with New Orleans this summer and will be traded at some point in the near future.

It's safe to assume the Warriors would like to see The Brow shipped to the Eastern Conference and not the Lakers.

But for now, the Dubs simply want to beat the Raptors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.
