Friday night's matchup between the Warriors and the Chicago Bulls could be a battle of the two best teams in the NBA. The Warriors have an NBA-best 10-1 record, while the Bulls are tied atop the Eastern Conference with an 8-3 record.

However, the Bulls will be without their starting center.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday, citing sources, that Nikola Vucevic will miss several games after being placed in health and safety protocol.

The Athletic's Shams Charania later reported, citing sources, that Vucevic has tested positive for COVID-19.

The two-time NBA All-Star was acquired last season by the Bulls. Now that Chicago has more scoring options, Vucevic is averaging just 13.6 points per game, his lowest since his second season in the NBA. He still is averaging 10.9 rebounds per game and is averaging career highs in assists (4.3) and steals (1.2).

Vucevic played against the Warriors three times last season and enjoyed plenty of success. He averaged 25.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game against Golden State last season.
