Report: Millsap ‘amenable' to Warriors' mid-level exception

Might the Warriors and Paul Millsap agree to terms on a contract this week?

"League sources [said] Millsap would be amenable to joining Golden State or returning to [the] Atlanta [Hawks] at the taxpayer mid-level," Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer reported Monday.

Free agency opens Monday afternoon at 3:00 PT, and so we will soon find out if Warriors seriously are interested in Millsap.

The 36-year-old (he turns 37 in February) averaged 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals last season with the Denver Nuggets, while shooting 47.6 percent overall and 34.3 percent from beyond the arc.

He averaged 20.8 minutes over 56 regular-season games (36 starts), but his playing time dropped pretty significantly in the playoffs.

It's very possible the Warriors have others above Millsap on their wish list when it comes to the taxpayer mid-level exception, which is worth about $5.9 million.

It's safe to assume the Dubs would not be able to land Millsap on a veteran's minimum contract, but you never know.

We will get answers very soon.
