Report: Warriors declined ‘several strong' Oubre trade offers

The Warriors traded Brad Wanamaker and Marquese Chriss just before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

But they chose to keep Kelly Oubre.

And as ESPN's Ramona Shelburne tweeted, Golden State had some options on the table.

Oubre will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and it won't be cheap for the Warriors to re-sign him.

And it remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will be willing to return, knowing that he almost assuredly will be coming off the bench once Klay Thompson is fully ready to return to the starting lineup.

But all of that will get sorted out months from now.

For the time being, Golden State hopes Oubre continues to play like he did Tuesday night vs. the Philadelphia 76ers, when he recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one block.

The Warriors clearly want to make a postseason push, and the 6-foot-7 lefty will play a vital role over the final 28 regular season games.

And perhaps he becomes a legitimate Sixth Man of the Year candidate in 2021-22 when the Dubs plan on being a true title contender again.
