A confluence of events happened this past season for the Warriors that has put their offseason under a microscope.
Steph Curry played arguably the best season of his career, and rookie center James Wiseman struggled in 39 NBA games before his season ended due to a meniscus injury. With Curry playing at an unheard-of level, the need to put a true title-contending roster around him grew with each 3-pointer he splashed while being hounded by multiple defenders.
Wiseman, along with the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2021 top-three protected first-round pick and Andrew Wiggins, gives the Warriors an attractive trade package. However, the Warriors reportedly have not yet thought about dealing the young big man.

"Golden State has had no serious internal discussions on moving the 20-year-old center whom the Warriors drafted No. 2 a year ago," Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer reported Monday, citing sources.
This report is in lockstep with what president of basketball operations Bob Myers said at his end-of-season press conference about the possibility of dealing Wiseman.
"I think he can help us. I expect him to be on the team next year. I don't want to trade James Wiseman," Myers told reporters on May 24. "I think he is a tremendous talent. I think he was put in a position where, again, the guy has taken hopefully all of his lumps early in his career. I think he can be very helpful to us in the future.
"I think he can be helpful in the present. We plan on him being on the team. We plan on him helping us. ... We're very confident he is going to be a good player and help us win next year. And so, we think he is part of winning for this team going forward."
Golden State Warriors
It would make sense for the Warriors to think about trading Wiseman if the right deal presented itself. The combination of the 20-year-old center, a potential top-five lottery pick, and Andrew Wiggins is a lot to use to churn the trade waters. The problem, however, is that at the moment, there isn't any player or players available on the trade market who would entice the Warriors to sell low on Wiseman and surrender the T-Wolves' pick.

The Warriors also added Nikola Jokic's former coach Dejan Milojević to the coaching staff, which is a clear investment in the development of Wiseman.
Tuesday night's NBA Draft Lottery will go a long way toward plotting the Warriors' offseason course. But, as for now, the plan appears to be to keep Wiseman on the roster and hope he makes a sophomore year leap that allows him to contribute to Golden State's planned return to title contention.
