Report: Warriors ‘still monitoring' in NBA free agency

Share

Might the Warriors sign one more player in free agency?

It's unlikely, but still possible.

"When asked about the status of Golden State’s activity level in the waning days of free agency, one source described it as 'still monitoring,' " The Athletic's Anthony Slater writes.

Dennis Schröder almost assuredly either will sign a bigger contract elsewhere, or go to a team that can provide a bigger role.

Furthermore, it's safe to assume that someone like Paul Millsap also can find a larger payday somewhere else. But if he doesn't, perhaps he accepts a veteran's minimum with the Warriors.

Then again, it's unclear if Golden State is interested in Millsap and/or has offered him a roster spot.

The 36-year-old averaged 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals over 20.8 minutes per game last season with the Denver Nuggets. He shot 34.3 percent from deep on 2.6 attempts.

We should have a more complete picture by the end of the week on how the team completes the back end of the 15-man roster.
