Patrick Beverley says Steph Curry's defense deemed ‘liability' by some

There are human beings on planet Earth who believe Warriors superstar Steph Curry is a liability on defense.

And Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley reminded people of that with a tweet Monday morning:

For full context -- Beverley initially commented on a question from Bleacher Report in regards to a hypothetical matchup between the 2016-17 Warriors and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls:

And then he fueled the conversation by bringing Steph's defense into the mix. But it's important to note that Beverley -- who actually is good friends with the three-time NBA champion -- did not specifically say that he believes the only unanimous MVP in NBA history is a liability defensively.

He simply was noting that some people -- whether they be fans, NBA players, NBA analysts or media members -- do hold that opinion.

The truth is that those who do possess that perspective are wrong and/or misinformed.

Curry -- who led the NBA in steals during the 2015-16 season -- is a serviceable defender who works hard on that end of the floor.

Teams do make a concerted effort to attack Curry, however, trying to wear him down and get him into foul trouble (which happens sometimes because Steph likes to reach). Also, he has been surrounded by teammates who are fantastic defenders, so it makes sense to avoid those players if possible.

But overall -- the two-time NBA MVP is not a liability on defense.

End of story.
