Late in the first quarter of the Warriors' win over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, Steph Curry drilled a 3-pointer from the left wing to tie the game at 22 apiece.

The triple was the 2,500th of his career, making him the third player in NBA history to make at least 2,500 3s.

Shortly after Curry joined the exclusive club, Reggie Miller -- who is No. 2 all-time with 2,560 3s -- took to social media to congratulate Golden State's superstar.

"Welcome to the fam @StephenCurry30," Miller tweeted. "Ray and I have been waiting on ya???.. It’s only a matter of weeks until you pass me with your sights set on Jesus Shuttlesworth.. You’re the best to have ever done it, keep letting it FLY.. #ShootersShoot"

Ray Allen is No. 1 in league history with 2,973 3-pointers. If all goes according to plan, Curry will supplant Allen at some point next season.

The two-time NBA MVP already is No. 1 all-time in playoff 3s with 470 (LeBron James is second with 414).

Curry got off to a slow start Sunday in Chicago, as he had just 14 points on 2-for-10 shooting from beyond the arc with a little over two minutes remaining in the third quarter. But he caught fire, finishing with 36 points on 5-for-15 from distance.

And most importantly, Golden State picked up its first win of the season on Damion Lee's game-winning 3-pointer with 1.7 seconds left.

Curry and the Warriors will be back in action Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons.
