Rick Welts will represent Warriors at NBA draft lottery

The Warriors are hoping that Rick Welts is able to bring them some luck next Tuesday.

The franchise's president -- who in April announced he would be retiring at the end of the 2020-21 season -- will represent Golden State at the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery.

Klay Thompson apparently was a candidate.

When it comes to the Warriors' own lottery selection, there are five possible outcomes:

-No. 1 overall pick: 0.50 percent chance

-No. 2 overall pick: 0.56 percent chance

-No. 3 overall pick: 0.63 percent chance

-No. 4 overall pick: 0.72 percent chance

-No. 14 overall pick: 97.59 percent chance

So if the first envelope opens up and it doesn't contain the Warriors logo, it means the Dubs have jumped all the way into the top-four. And that would set off a massive celebration within Dub Nation.

Golden State also owns the Minnesota Timberwolves' top-three protected pick, and here is the breakdown on that front:

Another celebration will ensue if the Warriors end up at No. 4 overall.

If the pick ends up in the top-3 and therefore does not convey, the Warriors will possess the T-Wolves unprotected 2022 first-rounder.

Yes, next Tuesday is a huge day for the organization.
