Warriors superstar Steph Curry is able to make 3-pointers from very far distances.
And Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is in a class of his own when it comes to completing passes deep down the field.
"I think 3-point shooters would probably say when it comes off their hand, guys like Steph Curry, they just know it's going in and that's how he starts going back the other way," Wilson told reporters earlier this season. "He just kinda knows.
"I think that for me, when I throw the ball and you know you let one go that you feel like it's going to be on the money, you just kinda know.
"There's this kind of moment in time that you're like, here we go -- boom! -- and it hits his hands. I kind of ... play music in my own head when the ball is in the air."
This is a pretty sweet analogy, and Wilson is having quite the sweet season so far.
Wilson has completed over 75 percent of his passes for 1,285 yards, with only two interceptions. His 16 touchdown passes are tied for the most in NFL history through four games (Peyton Manning in 2013), and the Seahawks are 4-0.
As for Curry, this isn't the first time Wilson has mentioned him.
“I think about Steph Curry and how he shoots a basketball -- that’s how I want to throw a football,” Wilson said almost exactly one year ago. “Put it on the money, make some crazy throws, make some crazy plays.
"I love watching sports, and he’s one of my favorite guys to watch with how he shoots a basketball.”
And yours truly speaks for everybody in the basketball world when saying we cannot wait to see the two-time NBA MVP take the court when the 2020-21 season finally begins.
