The Warriors are getting the band back together.
First, Leandro Barbosa joined Steve Kerr's coaching staff. Now, another member of the recent dynasty has joined the front office.
The Athletic's Marcus Thompson reported Monday that Shaun Livingston has signed a contract to join the Warriors' basketball operations staff as director, players affairs and engagement.

"After a year off, Livingston is ready for the next phase," Thompson wrote. "The natural move would have been coaching. A point guard all his life, cerebral and composed, Livingston has the pedigree for it. Most expected that to be his post-career move. The Warriors’ front office even encouraged it. Steve Kerr would very likely find a spot for Livingston on the bench.
"But during one of his conversations with Bob Myers, Livingston declared his preference for the front office. Myers was elated about the revelation and spent the next couple of years recruiting Livingston, working to keep his talent in house when Livingston hung up his Nikes."

Livingston officially retired in September 2019 after 14 NBA seasons, the final five of which were spent with the Warriors. Those five seasons coincided with Golden State's five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals.

A three-time champion, Livingston now is reunited with his former coach in Kerr, as well as former teammates Barbosa, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney and Damion Lee. He becomes the highest-ranking Black person in the Warriors’ front office since Mitch Richmond in 2008.
