Steph believes Morant-Poole injury coversation ‘total BS'

The conversation surrounding the Ja Morant-Jordan Poole play has just begun, but Steph Curry and the Warriors are already over it.

After Poole appeared to grab near Morant's knee in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' 142-112 Game 3 win at Chase Center on Saturday night, the conversation has reached a boiling point.

Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins insinuated in his postgame press conference that Poole caused Morant's injury. Morant then tweeted -- and then deleted -- a tweet claiming that Poole broke the "code" that Warriors coach Steve Kerr referenced after the Dillon Brooks Flagrant 2 foul that injured Gary Payton II in Game 2.

Poole defended himself after the game, calling it a "basketball play." Klay Thompson chimed in to defend the third-year point guard, and so did Steph Curry.

"It's unfortunate that it's a conversation right now because obviously nobody wants to see anybody get hurt, but there's nothing malicious about what Jordan did," Curry told reporters. "There's no comparison to what Dillon [Brooks] did or what Draymond ... like nothing in that vein. So it's not a joking matter that Ja's hurt but all the rest of it is just total BS in terms of the conversation right now. Y'all remember that term they came up with 'hot stove contact'? That's what it felt like. Keep it moving."

It remains to be seen just how serious Morant's injury is and certainly, his absence would play a big role in the remainder of this series.

If one thing is clear, it's that the Warriors appear to be united in defense of Poole.
