Steph congratulates CP3 on finally reaching first NBA Finals

Steph Curry and Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul have had an extensive on-court rivalry throughout the majority of the last decade. But that didn't stop the Warriors' guard from congratulating CP3 and the Suns after they defeated the LA Clippers in Game 6 on Wednesday night to advance to the NBA Finals.

It marks the first time Paul has ever made it to the Finals in his decorated 16-year career. And in congratulating his peer, Curry didn't let Paul forget that fact.

"Yo @Suns y’all did that. Respect. Congrats. 16 yrs a long time @CP3," Curry said in a tweet.

Curry surely is genuinely happy for Paul, but he couldn't help but include that backhanded compliment. What else would you expect between rivals?

Curry was not the only member of the Warriors to congratulate the Suns. Damion Lee did the same, while Eric Paschall reached out to his former Villanova teammate, Suns forward Mikal Bridges.

Additionally, former Warrior Jeremy Lin expressed his happiness for Suns coach Monty Williams in a tweet, which was retweeted by Curry.

The new Western Conference champions reside in the Warriors' same division. But clearly, there's plenty of love shared between them.
