Steph, Paschall explain tacit connection on clutch D-Lee 3

As the Warriors tried to complete a 22-point comeback against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, Steph Curry whipped an amazing, one-handed cross-court pass to Damion Lee, who hit a wide-open 3-pointer to cut LA's lead to one.

The whole play was set up through a melding of the minds between Curry and Eric Paschall, who helped make the play happen with his screen on Paul George (video h/t KNBR).

"So, I was like, all right, I know D-Lee is behind me, I'm about to set this flair," Paschall told reporters after the 115-105 win over the Clippers.

"On time and on target, and thankfully we connected and D-Lee made the shot," Curry added postgame.

Paschall's basketball IQ after four seasons at Villanova was one of the primary factors leading the Warriors to select him in the 2019 NBA Draft, and his spot on the All-Rookie First Team after last season provided further evidence.

Of course, the play still doesn't happen without the unbelievable one-handed pass from Curry, who continued to assert himself the NBA MVP conversation after a 38-point effort in Friday night's win. Curry shot 9-of-14 from 3-point range and added 11 assists for his second double-double of the season.

That kind of cerebral connection between teammates is a vital sign of a team with great chemistry, and those kinds of plays were commonplace during the Warriors' five consecutive runs to the NBA Finals.

For Paschall to already have developed that connection despite fewer than 20 games on the court with Curry is nothing short of remarkable.
