Steph Curry is back and Dub Nation couldn't contain its excitement Saturday night.

The two-time NBA MVP returned to the Warriors' lineup in Game 1 of the first-round NBA playoff series against the Denver Nuggets but he didn't start the game, with coach Steve Kerr opting to bring him off the bench and start Jordan Poole instead.

When it was time for Curry to enter the game, the frenzied crowd at Chase Center rose to their feet and gave him a thunderous ovation.

Curry, who missed the last month with a left foot sprain, checked into the game after a timeout with 5:47 remaining in the first quarter.

Within a minute, Curry found Splash Brother Klay Thompson for a corner 3-pointer, just like old times.

After checking in, Curry played the remainder of the first quarter but he didn't even attempt a shot. He finished with two assists, one rebound and had one steal.

Earlier in the week, Kerr said Curry would be on a minutes restriction and wouldn't play 30-35 minutes initially. Curry opened the second quarter on the bench.

Saturday's game was the third time in Curry's career that he has come off the bench in a playoff game, with the last occurrence coming on May 1, 2018 in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the New Orleans Pelicans.
