Steph Curry would have gotten the game ball regardless after becoming the Warriors' all-time career scoring leader on Monday night, but he decided to do a little bit extra.
Curry poured in 53 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Warriors got a big win over the Denver Nuggets at Chase Center.
Curry shared video to his Twitter account after the game showing Kerr toss him the game ball in the Warriors' locker room, to a round of applause from his teammates.
Coming into the night 18 points behind NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain and his 17,783 in a Warriors uniform, Curry didn't waste any time in going after the milestone, putting up 21 first-quarter points.
The Nuggets, the fourth seed in the West going into Monday's game, had no answers for Curry. The two-time NBA MVP made Denver defenders look silly throughout the night.
Curry should take every moment he can to enjoy such a distinguished honor in the franchise's history, but he and the Warriors will need to keep that momentum rolling as they embark on a five-game road trip, beginning Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
