Steph holds Jokic back after GP2 block, butt slap at timeout

Things got spicy late in the first quarter of Game 2 between the Warriors and Denver Nuggets at Chase Center on Monday night.

With just over two minutes remaining in the opening quarter, Gary Payton II blocked a shot by NBA MVP finalist Nikola Jokic.

Feeling himself, GP2 stared down the Nuggets' star as the Warriors gained possession and headed the other way.

Otto Porter Jr. nailed a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession, forcing Nuggets coach Michael Malone to call a timeout. As the players crossed paths towards their respective benches, GP2 gave Jokic what appeared to be a friendly slap on the butt.

Jokic didn't take kindly to the slap on the rear end, turning around immediately and heading in the direction of GP2.

Steph Curry, who is considerably smaller than Jokic, had to hold the reigning MVP back.

Cooler heads were able to prevail, but this is something to keep an eye on as the series progresses and shifts to Denver for the next two games.
