Steph Curry honors Monta Ellis before regular-season finale at Oracle

Monta Ellis holds a special place in the hearts of Warriors fans.

Before the Warriors had Steph Curry, Klay Thompson or Draymond Green, Ellis was the homegrown star the fans latched on to. His trade to Milwaukee in 2012 devastated a large portion of the fanbase.

Ellis and Curry were teammates for two and a half years, and Ellis famously said he and Curry "can't play together" in the backcourt after the Warriors drafted Steph with the No. 7 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Nevertheless, Curry knows what Ellis means to Dub Nation. So, prior to the last regular season game at Oracle on Sunday, Curry arrived at the arena rocking a No. 8 throwback jersey.

Over the last few home games, Curry has been honoring former Warriors that made an impact on the franchise. He's worn jerseys of Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson and Tim Hardaway. He was going to wear Jason Richardson's jersey, but Green snagged it from Curry's locker a few games ago and wore it himself.
