Steph, Klay joke about which Dubs star has best beard game

The battle of the beards.

Which Warriors star has the best beard game? Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all working with something, but only one can be crowned hair heir.

“It’s between me and Klay just because of where we came from,” Curry recently told NBC Sports Bay Area color analyst Kelenna Azubuike. “We had a humble beginning.”

Steph, who has been nicknamed the “Baby Faced Assassin” for his youthful appearance, started the beginning of his NBA career with just a goatee. And for many years after, that’s all it was.

And then bam.

“It took a while,” Curry told Azubuike. “I really tried for about five years and I could only scrape the goatee. Then all of a sudden, you win a championship and then boom.”

“You think it was the championship that sparked the hair follicle?” Azubuike asked.

“It had to be, it had to be,” Curry responded. “It got them going. I put my beard up there, it’s got kind of a weird red-ish vibe to it.”

Similar to his Splash Bro, Klay came into the league with a bare face. A decade later, Captain Klay is rockin’ a fully connected mustache and beard.

But it was still difficult for Klay to come up with an answer, although he did create a very unique solution.

“I’d say myself,” Thompson said. “I don’t know, that’s a good question. Draymond’s pretty good. I don’t think we all three have great beards. But if you put us all together, maybe we’d make one good one.”

So that’s the answer we’ll go with: A Steph-Klay-Draymond beard blend for the win.
