Steph Curry sustained a dislocated left middle finger early in the first quarter of Game 2 of the Warriors' second-round NBA playoff series against the Rockets.

Fortunately for Golden State, he checked back into the game a couple of minutes later. Although the injury didn't sideline him, the two-time NBA MVP shot below 28 percent from 3-point range over the final five games against Houston.

He broke out in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against Portland, going 9-for-15 from beyond the arc.

ESPN's Rachel Nichols asked Curry about his finger during a sitdown conversation that aired Thursday afternoon on The Jump.

"So catastrophic, right?" the three-time NBA champion said jokingly. "I'm probably not the first person or the last person that will have a dislocated finger. But it's been an interesting journey to say the least."

After Nichols said, "it was disgusting looking," Curry elaborated on the injury.

"It was bad," he admitted. "And then you have to figure out how to tape it up and keep your touch. I've never actually had this happen before so that was my initial thought -- it looks terrible so there has to be something broken in there.

"Moreso just dealing with the pain when I got back out there and a tape job that you're not used to. You have to work through that."

And then, Curry said the most important thing yet.

"I think the biggest thing is on my off days I can't play golf. Such a terrible life."

Curry is a golf addict and acknowledged recently that he constantly thinks about golf during NBA games.

It clearly doesn't impact him in a bad way. So whatever works, right?
