Klay had perfect response for Steph breaking Wilt's record

You know Klay Thompson wouldn’t miss Monday night’s historical performance from his Splash Brother Steph Curry.

Thompson sat on the bench to witness Curry surpass Wilt Chamberlain as the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer with a 53-point performance in a 116-107 win over the Denver Nuggets.

After Curry broke the record, he said he received a hilarious congratulations from Klay.

“When I broke the record, he gave me a line,” Curry said in his postgame press conference. “I can’t remember what he said, but it had nothing to do with the record or the game. And then as I was walking away, he goes, ‘Oh yeah, Steph, congrats!’ ”

Curry had to pause to laugh.

“He was locked in,” Curry said.

Classic Klay -- in his own world.

Draymond Green ribbed Thompson for his newfound loquaciousness earlier this season, so there’s no guessing as to what Klay told Curry after his record-breaking moment. Probably something about his kayaking skills or his trusty bulldog Rocco.

The Splash Brothers have had countless memorable moments on the court together but it has been different the past two seasons. Safe to say they still have their special chemistry.
