Steph drops quite the flex with comment about his trophies

Steph Curry has won a trophy or two. Or three.

Or four, or five … But who’s counting?

The NBA Finals MVP himself might have lost count at this point, especially after adding a couple more trophies to his collection this past season.

But that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop reminding the sports world of his accomplishments, even if that means offering a subtle flex at the American Century Championship press conference on Thursday.

When asked by a reporter what it would feel like to win the celebrity golf tournament just weeks after hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy, Curry’s response was quite the humble brag when it comes to his personal trophy collection.

“I think my wife would probably tell you if I came home with that trophy, she would know what trophies might need to move out of the way back at home in the office,” Curry said. “I hope we can make that decision on Sunday night when I get home.”

For those that might not know: Yes, Curry has so many trophies that he'll need to move some out of the way to make room for others.

Now, he looks to add another. This year marks Curry's 10th time participating in the American Century Championship. He has tied for fourth place on three separate occasions in 2013, 2017 and 2020, and finished ninth last year.

As Day 3 of the tournament gets underway at Lake Tahoe on Sunday, Curry enters the final round tied for 20th with 24 points. Former MLB pitcher and Oakland Athletics ace Mark Mulder is currently No. 1 on the leaderboard with 45 points.

Curry’s incredible eagle shot from the fairway was one of the highlights of Round 1 on Friday, but he has plenty of ground to make up Sunday if he wants a shot at adding another trophy to his collection.

No matter how the standings end up, though, Curry certainly has plenty of accolades to keep his spirits high.
