How Steph could make history with Warriors contract extension

Joe Lacob Steph Curry shake hands

Steph Curry back in July 2017 signed a five-year contract with the Warriors worth just under $201.2 million.

The two-time NBA MVP this summer is eligible to put pen to paper on an extension with Golden State that would pay him about $215 million over four years.

And if the three-time NBA champion and the Warriors agree to those terms, history would be made.

Steph has made it abundantly clear that he wants to spend his entire playing career with Golden State.

"He's gonna sign an extension. He plans to be with the Warriors for four or five more years," The Athletic's Marcus Thompson said last month. "He would love a four-year extension.

"So that puts him on the team five more years after this."

Warriors fans shouldn't lose any sleep over this contract stuff, as it all will sort itself out during the offseason.

For now, just enjoy watching Steph in the midst of his historic greatness, and don't ever take the 33-year-old for granted.
